Thoughts for Thursday

1.  I hate Delta!  Or just ridiculously priced airfare but in my world that is Delta hands down.  I take the flight from Moline to Atlanta between 2-5 times each year to visit my family.  When Air Tran flew that route non-stop they kept Delta’s prices in line.  I never spent more than $230 for a round trip ticket.  Now that Delta is the only game in town they feel free to charge what seems to be a minimum of $350 and usually closer to $500.  In looking at going to my nephew’s baptism in February, one of the flight combinations cost over $700!  UGH.  Luckily this time I have miles to use but that isn’t usually the case.  I ought to be able to go visit this little guy without breaking the bank!

(Though he’d probably be worth the $700)

2. On the fitness front, this week has been going really well.  I’ve worked out every day so far: 2 bike workouts and volleyball league (which I count because we are competitive and it is hard work!).  Monday – Wednesday last week went well too, before it fell apart.  My goal this week is to not have that happen again.  Going to get in lots more good workouts this week still!  Ones that leave me red-faced and sweaty.  This weekend I’ll try running again and see if my ankle is ready for it.  I’m not sure it will be though.  It still feels a little weak!

3.  I’ve been thinking a lot about fitness and travel bucket lists.  What I want to accomplish (lots of things!).  Where I want to go (everywhere).  When these things are going to happen.  How to save for them.  I see a couple of posts forming around these topics.  For instance, I REALLY want to go to Antarctica.  I’ve been researching different options and it is expensive but I’d like to do it in the next two years so I need to start saving for that specifically.  Maybe I need a bucket list page on the site so I can keep track and mark off when things happen.  Thoughts?

What’s on your mind today?

Hey – I’m finally playing blog catch up.

Wow that is an expensive flight, you could fly to England for that price!!

I love the bucket list idea, I really should look at mine and see what I can cross off this year. Antarctica sounds fun (and cold), my friend just got back from there and loved it
