Late Night Chat

Hey friends!

I’m curled up on the couch tonight catching up on a couple of DVR’d shows and I thought I’d invite you in for a chat.  You know I don’t do coffee so this is my favorite way to catch up!

I’m pretty tired right now.  I haven’t been sleeping well this week.  I toss and turn until 2 AM and then have to be at work by 7 AM for meetings.  Sheesh.

I do have another, MUCH better reason for being tired though.  I’ve started running again!!!  Isn’t it funny how exercise can become a drag, then you get injured, and coming back from that is all it takes to get you pumped about the sport again?  I haven’t run consistently in a year (I was really burnt out after the 2013 Disney half).  But when I couldn’t run because of my ankle sprain, it was all I wanted to do.  I started the Couch to 5k program to help me ease back in to running slowly so my ankle has time to get stronger.  It feels so good, I almost don’t mind starting from scratch!

I’m totally rocking my Iowa Hawkeye snuggie right now.  I don’t care what anyone says.  This thing is awesome!  I’m warm and still able to type away. Plus, GO HAWKS!  Though now that I typed that I realize that could be construed as support for the Seahawks this weekend.  Alas, I’m throwing my support behind the Broncos.  Blame my Aunt Patty who lived in Colorado for a long time (and who we bought a Broncos snuggie for Christmas this year).  See how that came full circle?  Fabulous :)

I am pumped for this weekend.  Friday night will be celebrating a good friend’s 30th birthday and Saturday I’ll be hanging out with another good friend and her first baby.  Lots of time with close friends who don’t live by me makes me very happy.

Is anyone else super excited for Jimmy Fallon to take over The Tonight Show?  I’m pumped.  (Apparently pumped is the word of the day).  Jimmy is hilarious and I think he’ll bring a younger crowd to the show.  Perhaps because he is so in love with the 80s & 90s and preys on the nostalgia of people who grew up then.  I kid, I kid.  Kind of.  Come on… watch this skit he did with Danny, Jesse, and Joey from Full House.  It is truly awesome and makes me miss my childhood.  Perfect for a #throwbackThursday, right?

I think that’s a fun way to end this little chat.  I’m going to turn in.  Hope you have a great day/night/weekend!
