Three Things Thursday: Funny Websites

The internet is full of funny things so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite sites that make me laugh.  Plus, this is easy and I just don’t have a lot to say today!

1) xkcd

This web comic is nerdy and hilarious.  The catch is, it’s only hilarious if you’re nerdy.  A lot of them are basic in math and physics, a lot of others are nerd pop culture.  Some of them anyone will get and some are way over my head.  They’re good though.  And definitely read the alt text.  That’s the funniest part usually!

They also have this awesome feature called What If?  It basically takes random, ridiculous questions and uses science and math to answer them and really explain it.  It’s kind of like MythBusters only these would be way harder to show in an experiment.  Two examples:

Could a high speed train run through a loop, like a rollercoaster, with the passengers staying comfortable/surviving?

What would happen if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90% the speed of light?

(Mushroom cloud.)

2) Steve in a Speedo Tumblr

Steve is a Minnesota triathlete who has a regular blog where he used to post very funny things on Fridays.  He had so many to share though, that he made a Tumblr page and he posts several per day.  Add it to your reader list.  I promise it’ll lighten your mood when you need it!

3) Graph Jam

This one is the newest that I’ve discovered.  It’s fitting that I enjoy it considering how I love all things Excel, spreadsheets, etc.  It’s a bunch of random graphs showing unimportant but sometimes funny things.  This one is true for me:

Okay folks!  That’s all I’ve got.  Happy Thursday!

What are your favorite funny websites?
