Beware the Ides of March is Right!

First of, I got REALLY confused in the early hours of the morning yesterday and thought that the it was both the Ides of March AND Friday the 13th.  Which obviously makes no sense.  I’d show you proof of this thought but as soon as I figured it out I deleted that Facebook post.  Whoops!

Anyway, the Ides of March did not start of well for me.  I was flossing before bed (at about 12:30 AM) and the floss kind of got caught up between two teeth.  So I tugged a little harder on it and out popped PART OF MY TOOTH.  What???  Now, it was a small piece but that is hardly the point.  When I stick my tongue up in there it feels like a gaping hole. NOT cool.

My reaction to this was to completely freak out and basically not sleep for fear of all of my teeth just falling out of my head.  I have been known to have bad dreams about my teeth falling out or being loose.  Someone on Twitter once told me that those dreams symbolize change coming.  I’m inclined to think its just my subconscious toying with my irrational fears.  Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.

In the morning I called the dentist and they asked what tooth it was.  Apparently I already have a (tooth-colored) filling in that tooth so it probably wasn’t part of my tooth but part of the filling that came out.  I still wanted it taken care of right away but they were booked and didn’t consider this an emergency.  (We differ on the definition of dental emergency here).  So i will be living with a hole in my tooth for the next week. Fun.

Luckily the day turned around after work when I went for a swim at the YMCA, followed by dinner with some friends and a St Patty’s Day party with some other friends.  But that’s my crazy story about the Ides of March!
