Happy New Year!

I, for one, am excited to welcome 2013 and not at all sad to see 2012 and all its trial fade into the past. Good riddance!

I have been thinking about goals and what I want to accomplish this year, but specific goals are for another post.

My 2012 can be summed up in one word. SURVIVING. That’s all I did. I went through horrible things and hung on for dear life. I accomplished little but just surviving to see another year. That was what I needed to do. That was about all I could do.

For 2013 I’m assigning my own word before life and circumstances determine it for me.

Thriving.

I want to thrive in 2013. In my career, in my personal life, in athletics. In everything.

I want to try new things. I want to meet new people and build new, good relationships. I want to be stronger mentally and emotionally. I want to cook more, weigh less, be more brave. I want to be happier. I want to stop having to qualify it and just be happy.

This is my word for 2013. I’m hanging this word on my fridge, in my car, and at my desk. I want to keep it in mind in everything I do. Because I deserve to have a better year than I did in 2012 and my choices will make the difference so I need to keep this always in my mind.

In 2013. I want to THRIVE.
