As usual I am spending this Christmas in Georgia with my family. For those of you wondering (because I get this question a lot) I didn’t grow up in the south. I grew up in Wisconsin (the land of cheese and beer and brats and all things wonderful!) and my parents moved here in 2005 to get away from the cold.
Last Friday I left work at midday and started my long drive to Georgia. The decision to drive was made so that I could take Dean along. Since his recent EPI diagnosis about three weeks ago he has gone on medication and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving him with someone else for 10 days. In the future that will be fine but I wanted to make sure he didn’t have a bad reaction to the medications in the first month or so. Anyway, I had a bag of snacks and a few books on tape and I hit the road. 10 hours later I stopped for the night and finished the next day for 15 hours of driving total. Luckily Dean is a fantastic in the car!
The last couple of days here have been fairly uneventful. We’ve been doing the usual… baking, eating, playing lots of cards games, and watching lots of movies. Running will resume tomorrow. Right now I’m enjoying the first few days of vacation!
I may be out of touch for the next few days as I continue enjoying time with my family who I don’t see nearly enough. But I’ll be back soon with lots to share!
In the meantime I just want to say thanks to all of the people who have read my blog. Thank you for your comments and support and friendship. Happy Holidays to you all =)
