Dealing with a Bad Workout

Don’t let one bad workout throw you off track!

Yep, that’s what I’m telling myself!  My mantra for the last 24 hours :)

Tuesday night I got almost no sleep and I was incredibly stressed out.  On Wednesday after work I was excited to go work out (I desperately needed the good-feeling endorphins!).  Clearly my body didn’t get the message.  Despite being mentally ready, physically I was run down and exhausted.  I muddled through the 2nd strength circuit of the Best Body Bootcamp program and left the gym feeling thoroughly discouraged.  My happy endorphins where nowhere in sight.

The good thing is that I still did a workout.  No, it didn’t go well.  But it is better than nothing.

I also sought support.  This was REALLY important for me.  I was feeling bummed and if I stay in my own head thinking about things like that I tend to just get more down on myself.  Instead, I posted about it in the Best Body Bootcamp Facebook group and the wonderful ladies jumped at the chance to reassure and support me.  Thank you!

I got a better night’s sleep last night and I’m ready to rock a workout (and volleyball league!) tonight.

How do you handle a bad workout?
