Since I finally got around to posting my Disney Wine & Dine half marathon recap yesterday I figured I might as well recap the International Food & Wine Festival that the race is a part of as well.  Besides, I have all these pictures of delicious food to share!

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a 6 week long event held at Walt Disney World every year.  It goes from late September/early October to mid-November.  The half marathon is on the first weekend of the festival and helps kick it off.  The festival is pretty awesome.  They had 29 food vendors set up all around the World Showcase in Epcot.  The vendors included countries from 6 continents plus a few dedicated to beer, champagne, cheese, and dessert!

The first thing you do is get a map and a passport.

The passport lists every vendor and what food they are serving.  The vendors stamp your passport when you place your order and you can check off what you had.  I’m proud to say I visited 20 of the vendors!

Three of us went around together (I only had a pic of two of us though) which worked great because we could order different things or order from different vendors and share.  That way we got to try lots of things without breaking the bank too too much.

Here’s a sampling of the goodies!

Belgium:  Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream & Godiva Chocolate Liqueur Iced Coffee

Greece:  Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey

Hawaii:  Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise (delicious!)

Scandinavia:  Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberries

Cheese:  Cheese Fondue with Sourdough Bread

Hops & Barley:  Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine Lobster Roll

Germany:  Dark Chocolate Carmel with Sea Salt (yummmmmm)

Desserts & Champagne:  Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial

What can I say?  Champagne makes me feel fancy!

So, is anyone still with me or did you all flip over to Expedia to book your flights for this year’s festival after getting through half of those pictures? :)

Really though, if you ever have a chance to go to this festival I would highly recommend it.  It is incredibly tasty and fun!  And of course, run the half marathon too so you burn off some of the calories you’re going to eat!
