Junk Food = Bad A.M. Run

The title is true.  Don’t try it out for yourself.  Just trust me.  I know from experience.

I was supposed to run 4 miles this morning and it went terribly. I’m pretty sure it had something to do with eating a giant pasta dinner last night followed a large helping of my Aunt’s birthday cake.  This was then followed by sour gummy candy, chips, chocolate while playing cards til midnight.  We’re talking lots of food.  Being consumed.  By me.  I don’t eat like this at home!

After sleeping in til 8:30 am I went for my run and every part of my body protested.  I got in just over 2 of my 4 miles before calling it quits.  Sad, I know.  I’m going to tackle the full 4 miles tomorrow morning after a day of detox-ing.  Think lots of fruit and veggies and none of the junk I ate yesterday.

Vacations are great and I wouldn’t trade the time with my family, but I need to learn how to eat better on them!

Do vacations or family gatherings through your diet and training off?

I hear you. My family is NO help when it comes to me and exercising and eating healthy. They think I’m a big weirdo. My husband’s family too! Every now and again it’s no big deal to splurge. At least you’re back on track! I have to keep myself on track as well. Temptation is everywhere…
