Happy 4th of July everyone!
I’ve been enjoying the holiday festivities and having a fantastic weekend myself. I hope you all have been too!
Last night I had a few friends over to grill out and then we headed down to the park by the river to listen to the symphony concert and watch the fireworks. Pretty huh?

Then this morning I was up bright and early to run the local Firecracker Run. I thought the 5k would be a good easy way to reintroduce my legs to running after my week off after the half. I had no idea my legs would feel like lead. Maybe my body isn’t fully recovered yet? Who knows.
What I do know is this… good run or not, there is no way I’d rather spend my 4th of July morning than running around my town with 2,500 others listening to barbershop quintets, gospel choirs, and an old lady playing her piano along the course. Feeling the sun beat down on me, cheering on friends and strangers, and sharing in such a great community event remind me how lucky I am.
God Bless America
