2011 Mid-Year Goal Review

Oh guys. I’ve been avoiding this for an extra 8 days because it’s bad. I had 2 goals in my original goal post (haha) and I can’t mark either of them off. Here’s the breakdown:

1) Lose the last 54 lbs to make my goal weight

This has not happened. I went backwards for a while and now I’m pretty much where I was in February. It’s disappointing because I know I can do it. I just haven’t been making healthy eating a priority. I’ll do really good most of the week and totally blow it on the weekends. I let myself get talked in to eating out all the time, going out for ice cream, etc. I need to be better about this. AND I WILL.

2) Run a half marathon

Now, the key word in the original goal was RUN.  I didn’t want to do this half marathon thing half way.  I wanted to really train well and be able to finish the race strong.  I signed up for 2 half marathons this year and the first one was just 2 weeks ago.  The race was fun and went fairly well considering being out with an injury for 6 weeks just before it.  I decided to take it easy since I didn’t have proper time to regain my endurance.  I still have the Disney half marathon in 12 weeks and I plan to stay healthy and train well so I can run the whole race and finish strong.

It’s disappointing that I can’t cross either goal off the list but I’m confident I can make more progress in the second half of the year.  Time to buckle down!
