Soup for You! Well, Actually It’s for Me :)

Last Christmas my awesome Aunt gave me a cookbook called America’s Most Wanted Recipes.  It’s got recipes from popular chain restaurants of course.  Since it takes me 5 or 6 months to get around to using some of my Christmas presents (I’m busy!) I finally took this out a few weeks ago.  Since then I’ve made two recipes.

The first was the Jack Daniel’s dipping sauce from T.G.I.Friday’s.  It was phenomenal!  I love that sauce and I always order something Jack Daniel’s style when I go there.  The recipe in the book was very close to the real thing.  My sauce was a little runnier than the restaurant sauce but I think that might be easily fixed with a couple of tweaks.  It was still tasty with a nicely grilled steak, courtesy of my roomie.

The second recipe I tried was Zuppa Toscana soup from Olive Garden.  In case you get the names of the Olive Garden soups confused like I do, this is the white sausage & potato one.  It turned out reaaaalllly good.

Looked really good too, huh? :)

The book said it made 4 servings but that must be for soup-eating contest champions because it was easily 7-8 servings for me (~1.5 cups was my personal serving size).  If anyone is interested in the recipe, let me know and I’ll be happy to share.

Any awesome restaurant recipes you’ve tried before?  How did they turn out?
