Are You an Athlete at Heart?

Do you currently or do you want to pursue an active lifestyle?  Do you want to be a healthier?  Do you want to push yourself to be stronger, faster, or better?  Do you enjoy a little friendly competition??

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you’re probably an Athlete at Heart!  It’s a desire to push yourself.  It means is that you want to strive to live an active and healthy life, like an athlete.  You don’t have to be fast or strong or even compete to be one.  You just have to have heart!

Athlete has always been a word that described part of who I am.  Even in the years between organized school sports and finding my way back to competition as an adult, during which time I certainly lost the look of an athlete, I held on to that idea of myself.  That’s what brought me back to a more-than-sporadically active lifestyle and keeps me striving to live more like an athlete.

So what are the benefits to striving for an athletic life?

  • Looking better
  • Losing weight
  • Gaining muscle and tone
  • Eating better
  • The thrill of competition
  • Making new friends
  • Feeling good about yourself
  • Finding out you are capable of more than you ever thought possible
  • Having that confidence spill over into other areas of your life
  • Lots of cool gadgets
  • Tons of energy
  • Endorphins make you happy! (and happy people just don’t kill their husbands :) )

Sounds pretty awesome, right?  But most of you already know that and may even be experiencing these benefits already.

So… are YOU an Athlete at Heart?
